Maybelline Baby Skin

Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser Review

I love this pore eraser! I found mine at CVS for about $6-7. I am really surprised that a drugstore brand has come out with a great pore filling primer. This product can be used alone as well as under makeup.

Claims of the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser
Claims
  • Instantly blurs the look of pores, without clogging them.
  • Transparent gel formula, smooths on clear.
  • Smoothes and refines skin's appearance
  • Non-comedogenic and fragrance-free
Definition of non-comedogenic- "denoting a skin-care product or cosmetic that is specially formulated so as not to cause blocked pores."

Use Alone or Under Makeup
  • Use alone for flawless-looking skin, smoothing onto areas with visible pores
  • AND/OR smooth a thin layer under foundation for a smooth-looking finish

I really think that is product is wonderful. It works really well at filling in pores, while not clogging them.

Face Brushes 101

Hello today I am here to talk all about face brushes.

First off I thought we should start with foundation brushes. The Sigma Sigmax Kabuki brushes are amazing. They can be used for liquid, cream, gel, and/or powder products. They are super soft and wash amazingly well. Personally I love the F80 and F82 for blending in my liquid foundation. Sigma brushes are a great price and offer a variety of sets as well as individual brushes

Second: The Real Techniques brushes are great. The Real Techniques Buffing Brush reminds me a lot of the Sigma F80 brush. I love these types of brushes for blending out foundation, I feel they give a much more airbrushes look compared to flat foundation brushes or using your hands. The Real Techniques Expert Face Brush is also really great and can double as a contouring brush! Also from Real Techniques I think the Stippling Brush works well for blending liquid or cream foundation into the skin.

Beauty Sponges are great for those who have try skin, they are meant to be used damp and really help hydrate the skin. The Beauty Blender is a little bit on the pricey side but totally worth the splurge. The Real Techniques Beauty Sponge is less expensive but also works really well at blending foundation into the skin. Those with oily skin can also use beauty sponges, they are a great way to apply foundation to receive a seamless look.

The Sigma Precision Angled P84 and the Sigma Precision Tapered P86 are great for blending out concealer. The shape is great for getting into hard to reach places like around the eyes, nose, and mouth.

For powder there are a couple different options depending on what you are looking for. The e.l.f Powder Brush is great because you can use it for setting powder, powder foundation, loose powder, and/or liquid foundation. The size, shape, and density of the brush is perfect for puffing product into the skin. Another good option is the Sigma F30 Large Powder Brush. This brush is quit large and is good for dusting powder all over the face.

One of my favorite brushes for blush is the Sigma F40 Large Angled Contour Brush. I like this brush because first off it's super soft and the angle offers a nice wash of color on the cheeks.

There are many different type of blush brushes. These two are very similar the e.l.f blush brush and the Crown Brush Blush Brush. I love these brushes because they are small and they are both super soft!

Left to right:
Sigma F40 Large Angled Contour Brush- Great for applying a little layer of blush to the cheeks and works great at giving a tapered flush to the cheeks. (http://www.sigmabeauty.com/Mrs_Bunny_Essential_Kit_p/bblu.htmClick=282756)
Real Techniques Blush Brush- This is not my favorite blush brush, I find it is little bit large for my cheeks. Be sure to apply only a little bit of product on the brush to insure not to get a clown look to the cheeks. (http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod3220067)
Crown Brush Blush Brush- Mentioned above
e.l.f. Blush Brush- Mentioned above
Real Techniques Multi-Task Brush- This brush is perfect for blush because of its round shape and the fact that it's super soft.
Ulta Blush Brush- Not my favorite, it sheds and is not very soft. It is a good shape though, pretty much the same shape at the Real Techniques Multi-Task Brush.
e.l.f Small Stipple Brush- This brush is great for cream blush. The size of the brush is wonderful because it is not too big and will allow you to give a nice wash of color to the cheeks.

Contouring and Bronzer!
Left to right:
Real Techniques Contour Brush- This one and Sigma F05 are very similar. The size is great for getting into the hallows of the cheeks, jaw line, sides of the nose, and along the outer parts of the face.
Sigma F05 Small Contour- This brush is both soft and dense, great for contouring the face.
Bella Terra Bronzer Brush- This brush is large and great for bronzing up the entire face! Washes really well and feels great on the skin.
Sigma F50 Duo Fibre- I really like this duo fibre brush for contouring and bronzing because it gives an airbrushes look to the skin.
Real Techniques Expert Face Brush- I think this brush is great for cream, liquid, or powder bronzer and the size is great for really building up a contour. (Type it can also be use for foundation, like stated above)

Highlighting!
Left to right:
bh cosmetics fan brush- This brush is great for a light wash of color and allows for a nice wash of color.
Sigma F40 Large Angled Contour- I think the Sigma F40 brush that is not from the vegan line is fluffy, size, and the tip of the angle is great for dusting highlighter to the tops of the cheek bones.
Real Techniques Setting Brush- This brush is small and fluffy which allows to a great application of highlighter to the cheek bones.

These are just some of my favorite brushes for the face. I will do another videos on eye brushes for those of you who are interested. I hope you enjoy and be sure you let me know

Top 5 Hightlighters

Left to right: Dim Light, Incandescent Light, and Radiant Light

Right side of the face Incandescent light
Left side no ambient light powder

On the top of my list for most loved highlighter of the moment is the Hourglass Ambient Light Palette. Hourglass offers 6 individual Ambient Light Powders that retail for $45 each on the Sephora and Hourglass website. They are meant too be universal finishing powders that recreate the most flattering light. Each powder serves a different function, from capturing light, diffuses light, to softening light. This palette retails for $56 and is an amazing way to test out two of the Ambient Light Powders
The three in this palette are (From left to right) Dim Light, Incandescent Light, and Radiant Light.  Incandescent light is the only powder that is limited to this palette.

Second favorite would have to be MAC Mineralized Skinfinish in Redhead. MAC Minerealized Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle is a dupe for Redhead (Redhead was limited edition). This powder gives a soft rose gold highlight to skin.

Stila Kitten duo is for sure on of the best highlighting products on the market. It is like 3 highlighters in one, you can use each shade on their own or mix them together and create a gorgeous golden champion highlight. This product retails for $22 and can be purchased on the Stila Website as well as Sephora

Covergirl Shimmering Sands Trio is the most inexpensive of the bunch! Another great part about this product is that it comes with two other eyeshadows. You could complete a great natural eye look and then use the champion highlight on the cheek bones.

More blended out on the skin for a more sheer wash of color

Benefit High Beam is a light pink champion liquid highlight. This highlight retails for $26 and can be purchased at Sephora, Ulta, and Benefit. I love to apply this highlight underneath or mixed into my liquid foundation. I recommend applying liquid highlighters before applying any powder products to the skin.

These are just five of my favorite highlighting products. I hope you enjoy. Let me know what some of your favorites are.
